The workspace includes an AI-powered chat interface that connects to your project’s channel agent. Use it to ask questions, request document processing, and get assistance with data review. Chat pane showing a conversation thread with the AI assistant

Using the Chat Pane

The chat pane appears on the far right of the workspace. When a chat session is active, the workspace switches to an equal-thirds layout — documents on the left, data forms in the center, and the chat pane on the right — giving you full context while conversing with the AI. You can:
  • Ask questions about the current document or extracted data
  • Request processing — Ask the assistant to run specific operations
  • Get help with data review and validation
  • Discuss findings with the AI in the context of your project

Automatic Chat Prompts

Task templates can be configured to automatically start a chat session when a user opens a task. This sends a pre-configured prompt to the AI assistant, providing immediate, context-aware guidance. When enabled, the automatic chat prompt:
  1. Opens the chat panel automatically when the task is opened
  2. Creates a new channel scoped to the task
  3. Sends the template prompt with task variables substituted (task title, documents, assignee, etc.)
  4. Displays the message collapsed as “Requesting task assistance…” — click the expand icon to view the full prompt
  5. The AI assistant responds with tailored guidance
If a chat session already exists for the task, the existing conversation is shown instead of creating a new one.

Configuring Automatic Chat Prompts

Automatic chat prompts are configured on the Chat Prompt tab of the Task Template Editor. You define a prompt template with variable placeholders like {taskTitle}, {documentFamilyPaths}, and {assignee} that are filled in with actual task data at runtime.
Automatic chat prompts are a great way to onboard new team members to a workflow — the AI provides step-by-step guidance when they open each task, based on the specific documents and data they need to review.

Agent Processing Status

When the AI assistant is processing a request, a status indicator shows the current processing state. This helps you understand what the assistant is doing and when results are ready. Agent processing status indicator showing active processing state
